Who Qualifies for New Mexico WIC?

To qualify for WIC in New Mexico, you must meet all three requirements:

  • Categorical: You must be pregnant, breastfeeding (up to 12 months), postpartum not breastfeeding (up to 6 months), an infant under 12 months, or a child ages 1 to 4. Pregnant women should count their unborn child when determining household size.
  • Income: Household income at or below 185% FPL, or you already receive Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF
  • Nutritional risk: A WIC health professional determines you are at nutritional risk. Most applicants qualify on this standard.
Already on Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF? You or the child in your care may already meet New Mexico's WIC income requirement. Bring your benefit card or award letter to your appointment. You still need to meet categorical and nutritional risk requirements.
